A master of rendering Hawaiian people’s great legends and culture, Fraser captures one of the most festive times on our islands, Lei Day. She celebrates this special day with beautiful, fluid watercolor that enhances the movement of Pa’u Riders through Honolulu and Kapiolani Park. In multi-colored riding skirts, these equestrian women are adorned with lei that flow down over their well-trained mounts. Fraser captures the excitement of Lei Day as the horses and their riders move along the parade route, with members of the Royal Society of Kaahumanu watching from the side.
Framed in Koa.
