This beautiful kou, koa, kiawe, and ebony wood guitar was made by our HPA 1969 graduate, master guitar maker, and musician David Gomes. Tonight is your opportunity to obtain a historic treasure to enjoy for generations! David Gomes of Kohala is one of the most revered Hawaiian instrument makers. As a talented musician, he knows how to create a guitar that is cherished for its sound and beauty.
A variety of woods comprise this magnificent guitar: the back, sides, and soundboard are made of Kou; the neck is Honduras Mahogany; the fretboard and bridge are Ebony; the binding is Koa; the purfling is Pheasant wood and Cypress; the neck stringer is Kiawe. In addition, the head veneer is Hala wood. Maile lei shellwork on the fretboard. Size: 39” length x 15” width.
