Harry Lyons (1930-1989)

Honolulu Advertiser cartoonist, Harry Lyons (1930-1989). Harry Lyons became a cartoonist for the Honolulu Advertiser in 1959 and worked for the daily newspaper for the next 20 years. Among those who collected his work were President Lyndon B. Johnson and Pierre Salinger, former press secretary of President John F. Kennedy. In 1973, Lyons branched into sports writing with a weekly column called “Lyons Through His Teeth.” (The Day, July 14, 1989).
