Peter Jefferson

“I love to capture the drama of light on my canvases." Peter Jefferson is a colorist with an impressionist style. A love of art stems from a family of painters, artists, and curators. Growing up in the heart of New York City, he explored the art of the city’s museums and galleries.

“I love supporting the community, I’ve donated my time and artwork to support the Arts, schools, and programs of the Big Island. He began drawing as an Engineer in Boston. At Carnegie Mellon University, he received a Master of Architecture and began painting in watercolor and studying life drawing. Peter's art studies flourished at the DeCordova Museum School. His studies continued with oil painter Ovannes Berberian. Peter heads the Kohala PleinAir group. Last year he was an invited artist to the 13th Sedona Plein Air festival. His hula Paintings are featured on the HGTV program Building Hawaii (episode 7).
