Hawaiʻi Wood Guild 30th Annual Wood Show, Through February 26.

This show features the finest in island wood working and inspiring surprises, including illusionistic designs carved on calabashes, murals that combine painted landscapes with lustrous wood tones, and remarkable pieces that require close inspection and reflection, such as Hawaiian Star Compass, Shape Shifters, Prayer Wheel, Back to the Garden, ʻOhana, and The Queenʻs Song, honoring Queen Liliuokalaniʻs passion for composing mele. Other highlights include a stunning demilune table and curly koa headboard, and an outstanding array of bowls, vases, boxes, clocks, and other functional art pieces.

This juried show, also sponsored by the Hawai’i Forest Industry, celebrates the outstanding skills of our Big Island wood artists.  All items are available for purchase and twenty-five percent of the sale proceeds will support the HPA financial aid program.

The show is free and open to the public.  Each Saturday during the show, a member of the guild will be at the gallery to talk story with our visitors. It is a privilege to welcome the guild back to IAC.
