Artist personal statement:
"Shotoku". A fluid dance through sapphire waters. Shielded from anxious eyes by the tranquil water lilies that float on the surface, suspended between Heaven and Earth. A symphony of equanimity. Prince Shotoku, poet, (574-622) of Japan mused, "We uphold harmony as noble, consider the absence of discord our principal aim." In this world suspended from gravity of Earth and men, discord is unknown. Harmony is the given. To be in tuned with the natural order is to be in harmony with one's self. Swim in the pond where safety and longevity can be achieved and enjoyed.
