48", fifteen-strand, momi shell lei; the shells on this lei are rice white and the strands are joined at each end with white cowrie shells called pōleholeho ʻāpuʻupuʻu; people sometimes refer to this style of lei as “the holokū or wedding style” since it is very long and worn on special occasions.
This Niʻihau shell lei was obtained around 1980 at Island Legacy.
