Artwork by the great watercolorist Ben Norris (1910-2006) has been an attraction at Isaacs Art Center for many years. Passing Shadows is a brilliant, colorful landscape of abstract lines and shapes filled with tones of orange, green and blue hues. This is one of two offerings of a Ben Norris artwork reflecting his importance in the history of Hawaii's art. His use of surrealist memory images and the modernist reduction of details inform this extraordinary abstract landscape. Isaacs Art Center in Waimea holds a significant collection of Norris paintings and previously mounted a retrospective of his work.
