Keith Joubert
Keith Joubert
South African (b. 1948)
Keith Joubert was born in Germinston, east of Johannesburg. He studied commercial art and industrial design at the Johannesburg School of Art from 1963-1967. Since 1970 Joubert has painted African wildlife and the environment. He travels frequently throughout the wildlife areas of eastern and southern Africa. While in the field, Joubert keeps extensive notes and sketches. Returning to his studio he combines these ideas into a more complex statement on the intricacies of his surroundings – breaking away from the formal and traditional conceptions of natural history art.
He works in oil, watercolors, mixed media, and bronze sculptures. His works hang in corporate and private collection internationally, following solo exhibitions around the world.
