HO’OKUPU Many words in Hawaiian have double or triple meaning as the Hawaiians took great glee in speaking in riddles. This gives the language intrigue and beauty. The word, “Ho’okupu”, means “Gift or Offering”, but if you look deeper you find it actually means “gratitude” and with gratitude, “the coming of abundance for all”. A beautiful word that resonates deeply with me.
