Kapa 'Apana (Pieced Kapa - like a quilt). From the artist; "Beaten wauke from numerous kapa stitched together with cotton embroidery floss bound with cotton printed with 'the kapala (acrylic textile colors). Kapa was colored using plant and earth dyes.
Kapa pieces were originally beaten between 2006 and 2018.
As women would stitch scrapes of fabric to make quilts, I decided to do the same with Kapa. The pieces were "leftovers" from three pieces I made."
