Isaacs Art Center

We are proud to introduce our 'Ohana Art Show Series, showcasing works by artists who are either HPA alumni or parents. Our inaugural Ohana Art Show at Isaacs features the plein air paintings by Peter Jefferson, P'15.  The proceeds benefit the scholarship and art education programs.

Peter Jefferson’s reception on Friday, December 7th from 4-7 PM, will provide an opportunity to meet Peter and his wife, Lillian, who are parents of HPA graduate Katie Jefferson. You will be entranced by his fresh approach to painting. With dynamic, impressionist brushwork and rich, light-infused colors, Peter's art embraces the historic places and cherished shorelines of our island.

Peter has a fascinating background that has contributed to his strength as an artist and head of the Kohala PleinAir Group. Growing up in New York City, he frequented art museums and galleries and began drawing as an engineer in Boston. He then received a Master of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University, where he studied life drawing and became a watercolorist. Peter's art studies flourished at the DeCordova Museum School (Lincoln, Massachusetts) and continued with oil painter Ovannes Berberian. He now lives and paints en plein air on Hawai’i Island.

The show will run December 7, 2018 through January 8, 2019.
